I know this Dead Rails class tier list might stir up some debate, but hear me out. The Vampire remains a top choice, even after numerous updates, but the Survivalist has surged ahead recently. It's disappointing to see the Zombie class still struggling, particularly with its inability to use Snake Oil. Teamwork plays a role, but let's keep the focus on fun and less on min-maxing.

When it comes to sheer damage output, the Survivalist and Vampire stand out. While the Ironclad is a strong contender, these two classes reign supreme:

**Name****Cost****Info**
Survivalist75The Survivalist starts with a Tomahawk and becomes even more deadly as your health decreases. Even at full health, you deal more damage than others, though this might change soon. It's particularly effective against tough enemies that don't go down easily.
Vampire75The Vampire is all about speed and aggression. You're faster than a horse or sprinting zombie, and your melee attacks are devastating. Sunlight is a weakness, so stick to the shadows. You start with a Vampire Knife that heals you with each hit, making survival about maintaining pressure.

This section of the Dead Rails class tier list includes classes that are excellent but not ideal for solo survival. They offer solid damage and starting gear, yet they shine more in group play. The Ironclad stands out with its potential:

**Name****Cost****Info**
Ironclad100The Ironclad comes equipped with full armor, making you much harder to kill but slightly slower. Not the best for solo runs; you'll need a teammate to watch your back. In a team, shotguns are your weapon of choice for close-quarters combat.
Cowboy50The Cowboy offers a strong start with a revolver, ammo, and a horse. This combination makes early fights easier and helps you stay alive during chaotic Blood Moon nights. With the Game Pass, selling the revolver can provide extra cash for a better loadout.
Priest75The Priest uses Crucifixes and Holy Water, which can't be sold but are effective against enemies. You're immune to lightning, making storms harmless. While not suited for solo play, the Priest excels in larger squads, providing crucial support.
Arsonist20The Arsonist excels in chaos, starting with Molotovs and increased fire damage. Perfect for quickly clearing groups or towns. Best used in smaller areas where you can control the pace, and a horse enhances the hit-and-run strategy.

These classes are specialists, shining in specific scenarios. The Doctor, for example, is valuable for its price and support capabilities, but not ideal for solo damage. All three are crucial in team settings:

**Name****Cost****Info**
The Alamo50The Alamo is designed for fortification, starting with Sheet Metal, Barbed Wire, and a helmet. Ideal for securing the Train early on and holding off enemy waves. It's not flashy but highly effective under pressure.
Doctor15The Doctor is your team's lifeline, equipped with healing supplies and the ability to revive teammates at half their health. One of the most affordable classes, it's invaluable in group play. Keep them alive for a chance to turn the tide.
Miner15The Miner is perfect for resource gathering and nighttime exploration. With a helmet for light and a Pickaxe for quick ore extraction, they're the fastest at collecting materials. While not combat-focused, their utility is undeniable.

C Tier Dead Rails Classes

Similar to the previous section, these classes offer great utility but lack solo value. The Conductor is essential in a five-stack team, and the new Horse class is more of a novelty:

**Name****Cost****Info**
Conductor50The Conductor manages the Train, starting with Coal and reaching a top speed of 84. They lack a melee weapon at spawn, making them vulnerable early on. Ensure they're protected as they keep the team moving. No longer suffer a health penalty, making them slightly less fragile.
HorseUnlockable through the Horsing Around gamemodeThe Horse Class transforms you into a horse, unlocked during the 2025 April Fools "Horsing Around" event. With standard horse stats, you face challenges in tight spaces. You can ride players but not the train or other horses.
High Roller50The High Roller earns 1.5x money from bags, providing a quick start to gear up. However, they're more susceptible to lightning strikes during storms. High risk, high reward—ideal for those willing to live on the edge.

D Tier Dead Rails Classes

At the bottom of the barrel, we find the default class, which is neutral but unremarkable. It's perfect for beginners to learn the ropes. The Zombie class, however, remains underwhelming:

**Name****Cost****Info**
NoneFreeThe None class is the default, starting with just a shovel. No perks or drawbacks, it's a blank slate for saving up bonds and finding your playstyle. Simple yet effective if you know how to use it.
Zombie75The Zombie can heal by feeding on corpses and slip past enemies stealthily. However, they can't use Bandages or Snake Oil. While they have potential in crowded areas, they're currently underwhelming.

And that's the wrap! I hope this Dead Rails class tier list helps you set new records and conquer those mobs with ease. Don't forget to use one of our Dead Rails codes and tackle the Dead Rails challenges. Who knows what the next update will bring?
