Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo unleashes another musou title, reimagining the genre with a fresh twist. Warriors: Abyss, a new roguelite featuring familiar faces from the Warriors franchise, is available now.
Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to assemble a team of characters and battle through hordes of enemies. Its isometric perspective evokes the feel of both Diablo and Hades, the acclaimed Greek mythology-themed roguelite.
Gameplay footage revealed a squad battling demonic forces from "hell," featuring characters like Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang.
According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and add characters to their team, unlocking additional summoning abilities. Battles support up to seven active heroes, with a launch roster of 100 warriors.
Koei Tecmo intends to expand the character roster, beginning with additions from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. Further expansions are planned, with the possibility of characters from outside the Warriors series joining the fray.
Warriors: Abyss is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch release is slated for February 13, 2025. Players seeking the in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set should purchase the game before March 14, 2025.
