Moon Knight Returns, Not in Season 2: Marvel Exec

Marvel has confirmed that Moon Knight will return to the MCU in some capacity, but it seems a second season of the Disney+ show is unlikely.

In a recent interview with ComicBook, Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum shared that fans can expect future appearances from Oscar Isaac’s character, though not through a traditional Season 2 of the series. This shift comes as Marvel Television has changed its overall strategy since the release of Moon Knight in 2022.

Previously, Marvel used Disney+ shows to introduce characters who would later appear in films or other media—like how Ms. Marvel debuted on TV before appearing in The Marvels. However, the studio is now focusing on producing television content more in line with traditional broadcast models, including annualized series releases.

“As part of an earlier wave, Moon Knight and similar shows were designed to set up characters for future integration into the broader MCU,” Winderbaum explained. “Moving forward, our focus has shifted toward creating shows that stand on their own as television, released annually. I personally would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are still plans for the character further down the road.”

While Oscar Isaac voiced Moon Knight in the third and final season of Marvel’s What If…?, there has been no official announcement regarding his live-action return just yet.

Looking ahead, the current lineup of upcoming Marvel Television projects includes:

• Daredevil: Born Again – March
• Ironheart – June
• Eyes of Wakanda – August
• Marvel Zombies – October
• Wonder Man – December

Additionally, while production was recently paused on three unannounced series—Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc.—Winderbaum hinted that Marvel is exploring opportunities to bring back familiar faces, particularly the street-level heroes of The Defenders—Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist.

So while Moon Knight may not be getting a second season, rest assured, this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Marc Spector.
