Spirit Island

A cooperative strategy game of settler destruction by R. Eric Reuss.

In the most remote corners of the world, magic still thrives—manifested by spirits of the land, air, and all things natural. As the great European empires expand their colonial reach, they will inevitably encroach upon a place where spirits wield power—and when they do, the island itself will rise up alongside its inhabitants to resist.

Spirit Island is a cooperative, settler-destruction strategy game designed by R. Eric Reuss, set in an alternate-history world around 1700 AD. Players embody diverse Spirits of the land, each with unique elemental abilities, to defend their island home from colonizing Invaders who spread blight and ruin. In this area-control strategy game, your Spirits ally with the native Dahan to grow in power and expel the foreign colonists.

Spirit Island includes:

• Unlimited access to tutorial game plays

• Create custom games featuring up to 4 Spirits and play through 5 full turns

• 36 Minor Power cards to boost your Spirit's abilities

• 22 Major Power cards with devastating effects against the Invaders

• A modular island with 4 balanced boards for varied layouts

• Thematic island boards depicting the canonical island and offering new challenges

• 15 Invader cards that drive a unique expansion system

• 2 Blight cards introducing difficult effects as the Island becomes tainted

• 15 Fear cards providing beneficial effects when you terrify the Invaders

All game rules and interactions have been carefully adapted and rigorously tested by expert Spirit Island players, including the game's designer. For definitive answers on in-game situations, this adaptation is the ultimate authority.
