Capcom has rolled out an exciting new feature in *Monster Hunter Wilds* that lets players tweak the appearances of their hunters and Palico companions. The first edit comes free of charge, but any further alterations will require you to purchase Character Edit Vouchers. These vouchers come in packs of three for $6, or you can snag a bundle for both your hunter and Palico for $10. Without these vouchers, you're limited to tweaking just hairstyles, eyebrow color, makeup, and clothing—core facial features are off-limits unless you're willing to pay up.

Interestingly, this monetization approach was kept under wraps during the game's initial previews before its official launch. Capcom only dropped the news last week via their social media platforms. Despite sparking debates over microtransactions and grappling with performance hiccups, *Monster Hunter Wilds* shattered records, boasting over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam at launch.
As of now, Capcom has not responded to the community's feedback on this controversial move. Players are voicing their frustration with the new paid customization model, drawing comparisons to earlier titles in the series where changes to appearance were either free or could be earned through in-game currency. Many in the fanbase feel that this shift away from what was seen as a core feature of the franchise is a step in the wrong direction.
