Capital Bikeshare

The official regional bikeshare program serving Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

Capital Bikeshare is the premier, large-scale bikeshare system for Washington D.C., Virginia, and Maryland, pioneering this mode of urban transit in the United States. With Capital Bikeshare (CaBi), you'll find thousands of bikes across hundreds of stations in Washington D.C., Arlington, Alexandria, Tysons, Reston, Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Bethesda, and Chevy Chase. The best part? It operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The system features a fleet of robust, specially designed bicycles secured within a citywide network of docking stations. Simply unlock a bike from one station and return it to any other station in the network, perfect for convenient one-way travel. People rely on bikeshare for daily commutes, meeting friends for a meal, or leisurely exploring the area. Once you're a member, all trips under 30 minutes are included at no extra cost.

With the CaBi app, you can buy a pass, unlock a bike, and start riding immediately. You can also view all station locations, check real-time bike and dock availability, and get walking directions to the nearest station.

The Capital Bikeshare app also displays upcoming public transit departures, integrating schedules for WMATA Metrorail and Metrobus, shuttle services, DC Circulator, Fairfax Connector, Montgomery RideOn, Alexandria DASH, Prince George’s County TheBus, Arlington Regional Transit, VRE trains, and the Silver Line Express.
