AFK Journey Character Tier List: A Guide to Building Your Dream Team

This tier list ranks AFK Journey characters based on versatility, overall performance in PvE, Dream Realm, and PvP. Remember, most characters are viable; this focuses on optimal endgame performance.

AFK Journey Tier List

S-Tier Characters: Top Performers

Lily May, a must-have Wilder, offers incredible damage and utility. She excels in PvP (countering Eironn teams), PvE, and Dream Realm.

Thoran remains the best F2P tank, even alongside the more luxury unit Phraesto. Reinier is a top priority support for both PvE and PvP (especially Dream Realm and Arena).

Koko and Smokey & Meerky are essential supports for nearly all game modes. Odie shines in Dream Realm and all PvE.

Eironn, with Damien and Arden, forms a dominant Arena team.

Tasi (added November 2024) is a versatile Wilder crowd control character, excelling in most modes except perhaps Dream Realm (though this might change).

Harak (Hypogean/Celestial) is a powerful Warrior whose strength increases with each kill, making him nearly unstoppable when fully built.

A-Tier Characters: Strong Contenders

Lyca and Vala effectively utilize Haste, a crucial stat. Lyca boosts party Haste, while Vala increases her own with each marked enemy kill. Lyca's PvP performance can be inconsistent.

Antandra is a solid tank alternative to Thoran, offering taunts, shields, and crowd control.

Viperian complements a Graveborn core with energy drain and AoE attacks, excelling outside Dream Realm.

Alsa (added May 2024) is a strong DPS mage, particularly effective in PvP with Eironn. She's easier to build than Carolina and fills a similar role.

Phraesto (added June 2024) is a durable tank but lacks damage output. Prioritize Reinier first.

Ludovic (added August 2024) is a strong Graveborn healer, working well with Talene and excelling in PvP.

Cecia, while a good Marksman, has decreased in value due to Lily May and Dream Realm meta shifts.

Sonja (added December 2024) significantly upgrades the Lightborne faction with respectable damage and utility across all game modes.

B-Tier Characters: Solid but Replaceable

These characters are useful for filling roles but are easily replaced by A or S-tier heroes.

Valen and Brutus are strong early-game DPS options. Granny Dahnie is a decent early-game tank with debuffs and heals.

Arden and Damien are PvP meta mainstays but less useful in other modes.

Florabelle (added April 2024) is a decent secondary DPS supporting Cecia but not essential.

Soren (added May 2024) performs adequately in PvP but is suboptimal elsewhere.

Korin's Dream Realm effectiveness has diminished.

C-Tier Characters: Early Game Only

These characters are quickly outclassed. Focus on summoning better replacements. Parisa, while having a powerful AoE attack, is easily replaced.
