Ubisoft has outlined an exciting first year of post-launch content for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, promising to enhance the game with features such as new game+, additional difficulty settings, more story content, and much more.
In a concise yet informative four-and-a-half-minute roadmap update video released today, Ubisoft detailed its plans for 2025. The video offers a clear schedule for May and June, showcasing how the team behind this latest stealth-action title intends to keep the community engaged with free updates throughout the year.

The updates kick off in early May with The Works of Luis Frois, the first of several free story add-ons. Alongside this, players can expect a Codex update and quality-of-life improvements, including significant parkour enhancements and an updated photo mode. These updates reflect Ubisoft's ongoing commitment to incorporating community feedback into Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
"Your feedback has been a core focus of the team throughout development, and that’s not stopping now that Shadows is released," said community developer Daniel St. Germain in today’s video. "Regular title updates are coming, each with impactful additions – and changes – based on your feedback and requests, with some bug fixes to continue refining the experience across all platforms."
In June, players can look forward to another free story drop, along with more challenging difficulty settings, enhanced gameplay immersion options, an open-world alarm system, and the option to keep headgear on or off during cutscenes. These updates are highly anticipated by the player base, and more features such as new game+ support, additional story drops, special collaborations, and more are slated to arrive before the end of the year.
The highlight of the post-launch roadmap is the first major DLC expansion, Claws of Awaji, set to release later in the year. This expansion will introduce new content, including the Bo staff weapon and a new region for Naoe and Yasuke to explore, spanning a 10-hour journey. While pricing details are yet to be disclosed, Claws of Awaji will be free for players who pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows before its launch last month.
