Bring Large Dung Pods
The Hirabami, unlike many solitary monsters, prefers the company of its own kind, making this a challenging three-on-one fight. Your best bet? Large Dung Pods. These will scatter the pack, allowing you to focus on one Hirabami at a time.
Use Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger Ammo
Hirabami’s aerial prowess presents a unique challenge for melee fighters. Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger ammo is your answer. These can knock them from the sky. If you're low on ammo, severing the Hirabami's tail will yield a Tail Claw Shard, which can be crafted into more ammo.
Utilize Environmental Traps
The Iceshard Cliffs arena offers environmental advantages. Ice Spikes, Floating Rubble, and Brittle Ice Pillars can be strategically deployed to stun and damage the Hirabami, especially when targeted at its head.
Aim for the Head
The Hirabami's head is its weakest point, but its aerial antics make it a difficult target for melee weapons. Focus on attacking the head when it's grounded, and aim for the neck when it's airborne. The torso boasts significantly higher defense.
Watch the Tail
Hirabami's attacks are varied and unpredictable: bites, spitting attacks, and powerful dive-bombs. While dodging these, be mindful of its tail, which it uses like a devastating hammer. Stay mobile and anticipate its movements.

How to Capture Hirabami in Monster Hunter Wilds

To capture a Hirabami, reduce its health to 20% or less (indicated by a skull icon on the minimap). Set a Pitfall Trap or Shock Trap, then quickly use a Tranquilizer to subdue it. Time is of the essence; failure will result in its escape. While capturing offers a guaranteed reward, it reduces the chances of obtaining extra materials from weak point hits.
Mastering these strategies will significantly increase your chances of success against the Hirabami. Don’t hesitate to use Large Dung Pods or the SOS flare for assistance.
