Key Features of The House of the Dead 2: Remake

  • A complete remake of the 1998 arcade classic, launching Spring 2025 on all major platforms (Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X/S).
  • Expect significantly enhanced visuals, sounds, and new gameplay environments.
  • Playable in both single-player and co-op modes, offering diverse gameplay options including Classic Campaign, Boss Mode, branching paths, and multiple endings.

Forever Entertainment and MegaPixel Studio are thrilled to announce the resurrection of the iconic 1998 horror rail shooter, The House of the Dead 2. This remake delivers a modernized experience for both nostalgic fans and newcomers. Originally a standout title distinct from the popular Resident Evil series, The House of the Dead 2 offered a unique on-rails shooting experience filled with gruesome zombie hordes. Now, this classic arcade game receives a comprehensive overhaul.

Initially released on Sega arcade machines, The House of the Dead 2 quickly became a genre staple. While previously ported to consoles like the Sega Dreamcast, Xbox, and Wii, this remake introduces substantial improvements.

The recently released announcement trailer showcases the game's updated graphics and remastered soundtrack. Players once again assume the role of a secret agent battling a massive zombie outbreak. The remake expands the original experience with additional environments and the inclusion of a co-op mode.

The House of the Dead 2: Remake promises a faithful recreation of the original's high-octane action, complete with bloody explosions and combo counters, while benefiting from modern visual enhancements and a refined HUD. The retro arcade feel is preserved, but elevated for today's gamers.

Joining the recent wave of revived classic horror games (such as the Resident Evil remakes and the Clock Tower remaster), The House of the Dead 2: Remake is a must-watch for fans of zombie horror and retro gaming alike. Stay tuned for further updates.
