Despite being your initial boss encounter in the game, the fight against Yetuga demands a full understanding of the combat mechanics you've learned so far. Prepare to utilize all your skills to emerge victorious.

Yetuga is an aggressive adversary that unleashes a flurry of attacks when its territory is threatened. Similar to other large beasts in the game, it employs both long and short-range attacks, including a devastating leaping slam. To successfully navigate this battle, you'll need to master your dodges and parries to minimize damage. Here are the key moves Yetuga can perform:

  • A two-hit combo starting with a left-handed smash downward followed by a right-handed uppercut.
  • A four-hit combo featuring horizontal swipes with either its left or right arm.
  • A powerful downward smash using both arms.
  • A leaping single-handed smash.
  • A jumping grab.
  • A charging attack.

As you engage Yetuga, you'll gradually recognize its attack patterns, enabling you to strike effectively during its brief moments of vulnerability. Except for the jumping grab, you can parry most of its attacks, which will not only help you avoid damage but also inflict significant Stamina damage on the boss. Utilize Yetuga's aggressive nature by dodging its charge and allowing it to crash into a wall, creating a window for free hits. This tactic is particularly useful for shattering the ice spikes on its back, which will weaken its attack strength.

During the second phase of the fight, Yetuga intensifies its onslaught. After parrying its attacks to conserve Stamina, continue to apply pressure until you trigger its transformation. When Yetuga roars and powers up, quickly create some distance. It will then grab a massive rock to smash at you, requiring precise dodging or parrying to avoid damage. Watch out for its new frost breath attack, which spawns ice spikes; either evade or parry this at the right moment. Seize opportunities to land Potent Attacks, and when Yetuga shows signs of exhaustion, execute a Brutal Attack to deal significant damage, hastening its defeat.

Upon defeating Yetuga, you'll be rewarded with 4,800 Lacrima, along with several Frozen Mountain gear items and the Necklace of Resolve, acknowledging your triumph.

That covers the essential strategies for defeating Yetuga in *The First Berserker: Khazan*. For further assistance with the game, feel free to explore more guides on The Escapist.
