Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile game featuring a unique blend of Disney and Pixar characters in a new universe, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the game's end-of-service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024.
The game has already been removed from the Google Play Store, and all in-app purchases are disabled. Players have approximately three months of gameplay remaining before the servers are permanently closed.
Have You Played Disney Mirrorverse?
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse is an action RPG featuring reimagined Disney and Pixar characters. Kabam encourages players to complete the final storyline before the game's closure.
Initial excitement surrounding the game, particularly among Disney fans, waned due to a lengthy two-year early access beta period and inconsistent content updates. This resulted in player engagement challenges.
The Unexpected Disney Mirrorverse EOS Announcement
The game's potential remained largely untapped. Its demanding shard collection system hindered character progression unless players invested significant funds. However, the game boasted exceptional character designs, both artistically and graphically.
The EOS announcement is particularly disappointing, especially considering the recent release of new story content and the addition of Cinderella as a playable character just a week prior.
The sudden closure surprised many players. This isn't Kabam's first game shutdown; they previously ended Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off without much warning.
