Marvel Contest of Champions is set to ramp up the excitement in April with the introduction of the captivating new champion, Spider-Woman. Alongside her, another champion with a starkly different persona, Lumatrix, will make his debut, promising a diverse gaming experience for players.
Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions
Spider-Woman, originally Jessica Drew, faced a challenging childhood due to uranium exposure near her home. Her father, a brilliant geneticist, attempted to save her life by injecting her with a concoction of spider DNA. After overcoming the initial adverse effects of this experimental treatment, Jessica emerged with extraordinary spider powers, eventually taking on the mantle of Spider-Woman. You'll be able to add this powerful new champion to your roster in MCOC starting from April 17th.
Before Spider-Woman's arrival, however, players can look forward to meeting Lumatrix on April 9th. This formidable assassin, engineered by the Founders, is designed for stealthy infiltration and deadly eliminations, wielding dazzling light-based powers that make him a force to be reckoned with.
What Else Is New?
The narrative of Marvel Contest of Champions continues to evolve with Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition." This chapter sees Carina severely injured after an encounter with Ouroborus's forces, while Doctor Doom collaborates with the Fantastic Four to combat the spreading corruption of Chronoserpent. A new villain, Lotan, adds another layer of intrigue to the storyline.
Adding to the excitement, a new Event Quest named "Spy Games" launches on April 9th and runs until May 7th. Black Widow, investigating the enigmatic Eidols, recruits Spider-Woman to unravel the mystery.
Dark Phoenix returns in a Side Quest featuring "Dark Bounties," challenging players to track down bounty-targeted Champions and claim their rewards.
The Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector also makes a comeback, where players can deploy their top Saga champions to earn Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
