In the ever-expanding world of gaming, finding something that stands out can be a challenge. However, "My Father Lied" has caught my attention as a unique mystery/Lovecraftian puzzle adventure game, primarily due to its compelling story.
My Father Lied Is Made by an Indie Developer
The creation story of "My Father Lied" is as fascinating as the game itself. Ahmed Alameen, the mastermind behind it, initially had no plans to become a game developer. In 2020, while establishing his career as a writer and filmmaker, a college friend proposed a game collaboration. Although the team disbanded before the project could start, the idea of the game lingered in Ahmed's mind.
Driven by his passion for the story, Ahmed decided to pursue it solo. He taught himself 3D modeling and the Unreal Engine, bringing his vision to fruition. The game's intriguing title was a result of a brainstorming session with his wife, adding a personal touch to the project.
So, What’s the Game’s Story?
Now, let's delve into the captivating narrative of "My Father Lied." This game immerses you in a mystery intertwined with ancient Mesopotamian myths, filled with secrets, puzzles, and unexpected twists.
You play as Huda, a young woman haunted by the unresolved disappearance of her father for the past twenty years. As you unravel the story, you'll discover that the truth is far from straightforward.
Drawing inspiration from 7,000 years of Mesopotamian culture, "My Father Lied" blends ancient tales with contemporary storytelling. The gameplay features straightforward point-and-click puzzles, complemented by stunning 2D visuals and immersive 360-degree images.
When Is It Coming to Android?
"My Father Lied" is scheduled to launch on PC on May 30th, 2025. Android and iOS versions are slated for release in the third quarter of 2025. For more details, you can visit the game's official Kickstarter page or its Steam page.
Currently, the game is not available on the Google Play Store. It's likely that after the Steam launch, the developers will focus on optimizing the game for mobile platforms. In the meantime, stay tuned for our next update on "Apocalyptic Seas in High Seas Hero," now available on Android.
