Freedom Wars Remastered: Enhanced Gameplay and New Features Revealed
A new trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered showcases its revamped gameplay and impressive additions. This action RPG, set in a dystopian world, features battles against mechanical creatures, gear upgrades, and challenging missions. The remaster boasts significantly enhanced visuals, faster-paced combat, and a host of new features. Launching January 10th on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC, Freedom Wars Remastered promises a compelling experience for both veterans and newcomers.
The game's core loop remains familiar: players, known as Sinners, undertake missions to serve their Panopticon (city-state) in a world depleted of resources. Missions range from rescuing citizens to eliminating massive mechanical enemies called Abductors and seizing control systems. These missions can be tackled solo or with online co-op partners.
Bandai Namco's new trailer highlights the key improvements in Freedom Wars Remastered. Visually, the game receives a significant boost, offering 4K resolution (2160p) at 60 FPS on PS5 and PC. PS4 players can enjoy 1080p at 60 FPS, while the Switch version maintains 1080p at 30 FPS. Beyond the visual enhancements, the gameplay is noticeably faster, incorporating improved movement and attack cancellation mechanics.
The crafting and upgrade systems have undergone a complete overhaul. Players will find more intuitive interfaces and the ability to freely attach and detach modules. A new module synthesis feature allows players to enhance their equipment using resources gained from rescued citizens. Finally, a challenging new difficulty mode, "Deadly Sinner," caters to experienced players, and all original customization DLC from the PS Vita version is included from the outset. The game's similarities to the Monster Hunter series, born from Sony's loss of the series' exclusivity to Capcom, are also subtly highlighted in the trailer's narrative.
