In *Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii*, players step into the pirate boots of Goro Majima, Captain of the Goro Pirates. As you navigate your seafaring journey, recruiting crew members is crucial, and here’s how you can enlist Kraken-Chan and recruit Surfer Jay.
How To Recruit Surfer Jay in Pirate Yakuza
Surfer Jay, a prime recruit located in Honolulu, boasts higher base stats than your initial crew members, making him a valuable asset. However, recruiting him involves a bit more effort, including a trip to Madlantis.
Begin by docking your ship at Madlantis. Head to the tent opposite the Madlantis Golf Range, where you'll find a variety of arcade games and a claw machine. Your target is the UFO Catcher Game, which may contain the blue plush known as Kraken-Chan, a key item for recruiting Surfer Jay. If Kraken-Chan isn't available, speak to the attendant under the tent to request a change of prizes.
Winning Kraken-Chan from the claw machine may require multiple attempts, so ensure you have sufficient funds. The trick is to maneuver the claw to push the plush towards the slot until it falls into your inventory. Once you've secured Kraken-Chan, sail back to Honolulu.
Upon arrival, make your way to the Tropical Coco in the Anaconda Shopping Center. You can use a cab, your street surfer, or simply run there. To find Surfer Jay, check your mini-map for the pirate member symbols with a bandana and sword. You'll find him in a garage next to his surfboard.
Engage in conversation with Surfer Jay, who will share his heartbreak and relationship woes. When the opportunity arises, present him with Kraken-Chan. This gesture will resolve his issues and convince him to join the Goro Pirates. While Surfer Jay doesn't offer unique stats or perks as a First Mate or Boarding Squad Leader, he's essential for completionists and adds depth to your crew.
And that's how you secure Kraken-Chan and recruit Surfer Jay in *Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii*.
