King of Hill Revival Debuts August, Aging Cast Revealed

Mike Judge and Greg Daniels' King of the Hill revival has unveiled its refreshed time-lapse opening sequence while announcing a Hulu and Disney+ premiere date of August 4.

The official X/Twitter account revealed today what appears to be the complete opening credits for the first new King of the Hill episodes since 2010. The Texas family has visibly aged -- showing Hank, Peggy and Bobby moving away before eventually returning to Arlen.

"After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to save for retirement, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a transformed Arlen, Texas to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill," states Hulu's official description. "Meanwhile, Bobby pursues his culinary dreams in Dallas while navigating his twenties alongside former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane."

While glimpses of an older Bobby and Dale Gribble's political aspirations appear in this updated version of television's iconic opening sequence, plot details remain scarce regarding Judge and Daniels' comedy revival. Early reports about Hank Hill's return first emerged via THR in 2022 before Hulu secured streaming rights to what would become Season 14 in 2023. Later that year, producers confirmed the revival would feature a substantial time jump.

Most original voice actors have returned for Hulu's animated revival, including Judge as Hank Hill, Kathy Najimy as Peggy Hill, Pamela Adlon as Bobby Hill, and Stephen Root as Bill Dauterive. Johnny Hardwick, who voiced Dale Gribble, passed away at 64 in August 2023 but completed some recordings before his death.

The King of the Hill revival arrives this August, bringing viewers back to Arlen's familiar neighborhoods. For those awaiting the premiere, additional previews featuring an older Bobby surfaced late last year.
