Krysten Ritter Confirmed to Reprise Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. This exciting news was officially announced during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, as reported by Variety. The announcement comes after months of speculation and rumors about the potential return of several Netflix Defenders characters to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Ritter joined her Daredevil and The Defenders co-star Charlie Cox on stage to share her enthusiasm about returning to the role. "It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter stated. She hinted at exciting developments for her character, saying, "I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

As Netflix's partnership with Marvel began to fade, so did the prospects of seeing Ritter reprise her role—until Disney regained the rights to these characters in 2021.

The return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his own Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, fueled speculation about the reintroduction of other Netflix heroes. With Jon Bernthal's Punisher playing a significant role in Season 1, it's fitting to see Ritter's Jessica Jones join the fray in Season 2.

Ritter last portrayed Jessica Jones in Season 3, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation suggest that fans can look forward to more of the character in the MCU, starting with Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While Disney has not yet announced a release date, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that new episodes will be available in March 2026.
