LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has shared exciting news about the company's future, revealing plans to broaden its digital footprint by venturing into video game development. This strategic move includes crafting games both on their own and in collaboration with other developers.
"We are confident that, as long as we operate under the LEGO brand, we aim to create experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms. Developing games internally is something we are actively pursuing." - Niels Christiansen
This expansion into gaming doesn't mean LEGO will end its partnerships with external developers. Just last month, Jason Schreier, a well-known journalist, reported that TT Games, famous for their LEGO-themed titles, is currently developing a new LEGO game, possibly linked to a Warner Bros. franchise.

LEGO's most prominent gaming collaboration to date is with Epic Games. The introduction of a LEGO-themed mode in Fortnite last year proved immensely popular, showcasing the potential of LEGO's digital expansion. Furthermore, LEGO has built a legacy with the adventure game series developed by TT Games over the last twenty years. Although recent updates from the studio have been sparse, whispers of a new LEGO Harry Potter game, inspired by the success of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, have been circulating.
Adding to its diverse gaming portfolio, LEGO teamed up with 2K Games to launch LEGO 2K Drive, a racing game released last year. This venture further demonstrates LEGO's adaptability and commitment to engaging fans across various gaming genres.
