LEGO enthusiasts and Star Wars fans have a lot to look forward to with the announcement of nine new Star Wars sets, set to launch on May 1, 2025. This release is part of Disney's extensive celebration of May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day, which LEGO traditionally marks with the launch of a new Ultimate Collector Series Starship. In previous years, fans saw the release of Luke's X-Wing Starfighter in 2023 and the TIE Interceptor in 2024.
This year, LEGO is unveiling Jango Fett's Firespray Starship, famously known among long-time fans as Slave I. The name change to Firespray Starship, implemented in 2021 at Disney's request, reflects a sensitivity to the term 'slave' and appears to be permanent.

The latest iteration of Jango Fett's starship is a significant upgrade from the last large-scale version released in 2019, which had 1007 pieces and was based on the ship's appearance in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. The new set, with a whopping 2970 pieces, captures the ship as seen in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. It's nearly three times larger than its predecessor, measuring 7.5 inches high, 17.5 inches long, and 15.5 inches wide.
