New Magic: The Gathering Cards Revealed for Final Fantasy Set

For fans of Magic: The Gathering eagerly awaiting the upcoming Final Fantasy set, June might seem like a distant dream. However, Wizards of the Coast has just released an exciting first look at over a dozen new cards, featuring iconic characters like Sephiroth, Yuffie, Cecil, Garland, Chaos, and more. This sneak peek not only showcases new cards but also introduces various art variations and the previously revealed commander cards: Tidus, Cloud, Y'shtola, and Terra.

Among the revealed cards, we see powerful legendaries such as Sephiroth and Cecil, alongside a fresh Food token art and art variations on cards like Stilzkin, Moogle Merchant; Sin, Spira's Punishment; and Summon: Shiva. You can explore the full gallery below:

Today's reveal also highlights some unique features of the set, including Summons, which are part of Magic's innovative Saga creatures that players can summon for aid in battle, as exemplified by Summon: Shiva in the gallery. Additionally, the set brings back double-faced cards, with Cecil showcasing his dual nature as both a Dark Knight and a Redeemed Paladin.

The Final Fantasy set will boast over 100 legendary creature cards, including 55 legendary borderless cards, many of which are illustrated by beloved artists from the Final Fantasy series. This set is not only fully draftable but also Standard-legal, and it will be released alongside four preconstructed Commander decks. Each deck, themed around Final Fantasy games 6, 7, 10, and 14, will contain 100 cards, blending new Final Fantasy cards with existing cards featuring new Final Fantasy art.
