Metal Slug: Awakening breathes new life into the beloved run-and-gun franchise, initially teased in 2020 as Metal Slug Code: J. Following a Southeast Asian release in late 2023, this updated version is finally ready for a worldwide debut.
For those unfamiliar, Metal Slug, originally launched in 1996 by Nazca Corporation, is a celebrated Japanese run-and-gun series that has since expanded into a multimedia franchise. While previous mobile entries like Metal Slug Defense (2014), Metal Slug Attack (2016), and Metal Slug Commander (2020) existed, Awakening promises a significant upgrade.
