Supercell, the Finnish game developer, has made a surprising announcement. Following the cancellation of their RPG, Clash Heroes, they're reviving the concept in a completely new form: Project R.I.S.E.
The Details Unveiled!
Clash Heroes is officially discontinued. Confirming earlier rumors, it joins Clash Mini as a Supercell project put on hold. However, the spirit of Clash Heroes lives on in Project R.I.S.E., a social action RPG roguelite set within the familiar Clash universe.
Supercell released a video announcement for Project R.I.S.E. Game lead Julien Le Cadre stated plainly, "Clash Heroes is dead. That's the bad news," he explained. "The good news is Project R.I.S.E. is still a Clash game, and even better news: it's now a multiplayer action RPG."
For a detailed overview, watch the announcement video:
Project R.I.S.E. shares similarities with Clash Heroes but is a completely redesigned experience. It's a social action RPG roguelite where players team up in groups of three to conquer The Tower. Each playthrough explores a different floor, with the objective of reaching the highest level possible. Unlike its predecessor, the emphasis is on cooperative multiplayer gameplay with diverse characters, rather than solo PvE dungeon crawling.
Currently in pre-alpha, Project R.I.S.E. is slated for its first playtest in early July 2024. Registration is open on the official website for a chance to participate.
