Pokémon Go is getting ready for Christmas with the Holiday Part 1 event later this month

Get ready for festive fun in Pokémon Go! Niantic's Holiday Part One event is coming soon, bringing a flurry of seasonal surprises from December 17th to 22nd. This event is packed with bonuses, special Pokémon encounters, and exciting challenges.

Double your XP for catching Pokémon and enjoy half the usual egg hatching distance. A new costumed Dedenne, sporting its holiday best, will debut, with a chance to catch a shiny version! Shiny Sandygast also makes its first appearance.

Explore the wild to find Alolan Sandshrew, Swinub, and Darumaka. Raids offer a festive roster: One-star raids feature Pikachu and Psyduck in holiday outfits. Three-star raids challenge you with Glaceon (Undersea Holiday outfit) and Cryogonal, while Mega Latias and Mega Latios appear in Mega Raids.

Seven-kilometer Eggs hold the potential to hatch Hisuian Growlithe or a holiday-ribboned Cubchoo. Complete event-themed Field Research tasks (or the $2.00 Timed Research) for encounters with costumed Pokémon, Premium Battle Passes, and other rewards.
