Pokémon Legends: Z Release Date Leaks Online

Key Points:

  • A potential release date of August 15, 2025, for Pokémon Legends: Z-A surfaced via a leaked Amazon UK listing in early January 2025.
  • This aligns with The Pokémon Company's previously stated 2025 release window.
  • Official confirmation of the release date is highly anticipated during the Pokémon Day 2025 Pokémon Presents broadcast, scheduled for February 27th.

An unconfirmed release date for Pokémon Legends: Z-A has emerged online, pointing towards an August 15, 2025 launch. This date, discovered via a fleeting update on the Amazon UK listing (January 8th, 2025), is consistent with the general 2025 timeframe announced by The Pokémon Company. The listing was quickly amended back to a placeholder date.

Initially unveiled during the February 2024 Pokémon Day celebrations, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is positioned as a sequel to the exploration-focused Pokémon Legends: Arceus (2022). Unlike previous entries, Arceus prioritized open-ended exploration and collecting over traditional gym battles and the Pokémon League. Since its announcement, details about Pokémon Legends: Z-A have been scarce.

February 2025 Confirmation Possible

Regardless of the leaked date's accuracy, a formal announcement of the Pokémon Legends: Z-A release date is likely imminent. Following the pattern established with the game's initial reveal on Pokémon Day 2024, its release date could be unveiled during the 2025 event on February 27th (the anniversary of the original Japanese Pokémon Red and Green releases). This date has been corroborated by evidence found by a data miner within the latest Pokémon GO build.

Beyond the release date, fans eagerly await a gameplay reveal, another potential highlight of the February 2025 Pokémon Presents. Pokémon Legends: Z-A, initially confirmed as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, will also be playable on the upcoming Switch 2, thanks to confirmed backward compatibility. While past mainline Pokémon games have featured paid DLC, Pokémon Legends: Arceus only received a single free post-launch update, "Daybreak."
