Sony's VP of Product Management, Hiromi Wakai, announced a new PS5 beta update featuring personalized 3D audio, improved Remote Play controls, and adaptive controller charging.

The update allows for personalized 3D audio profiles, tailored to individual hearing using compatible headsets (like the Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore). This enhances immersion by improving sound localization within games.

New Remote Play settings provide greater control over remote access to your PS5, particularly useful in multi-user households. Access can be managed via [Settings] > [System] > [Remote Play] > [Enable Remote Play].

For the slim PS5 model, adaptive charging optimizes controller charging while the console is in rest mode. This power-saving feature is enabled through [Settings] > [System] > [Power Saving] > [Features Available in Rest Mode] > [Supply Power to USB Ports] > [Adaptive].

Beta Rollout and Global Availability

Currently, the beta is limited to invited participants in select regions (U.S., Canada, Japan, U.K., Germany, and France). Invited users will receive an email with download instructions. Note that features may change or be removed before the full release based on feedback.
