The Sony Bravia XR X93L, released in March 2023, stands as the second highest-end non-OLED TV in Sony's lineup, just below the X95L, which was only available in an 85" size in the U.S. The X93L utilizes Mini LED technology, which significantly enhances HDR content. Mini LED backlighting involves an array of smaller and more numerous LEDs that can independently turn on and off, thus improving black levels and contrast ratio.
This TV is also an excellent choice for gamers. It features four HDMI ports, with two supporting the HDMI 2.1 specification. HDMI 2.1 allows for 4K output at up to 120Hz refresh rate, ideal for next-generation consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The forthcoming Switch 2, when docked, will be limited to 60fps in 4K, so HDMI 2.1 isn't necessary for that system.
For Android smartphone users, the Sony Bravia XR X93L offers the reliable Google TV smart interface, which is user-friendly and allows you to use your Android device as a remote.
