SoMoGa Inc. has unleashed a modernized version of Vay on Android, iOS, and Steam. This classic 16-bit RPG returns with enhanced visuals, a streamlined user interface, and controller support.
Originally released in Japan in 1993 for the Sega CD (developed by Hertz and localized by Working Designs), Vay received an iOS re-release in 2008 courtesy of SoMoGa. This new iteration builds on that legacy.
Revamped Vay: What's New?
Prepare for over 100 enemies, a dozen challenging bosses, and exploration across 90 diverse areas. A standout feature is the adjustable difficulty, catering to various play styles. Auto-saving adds convenience, while Bluetooth controller support offers flexible gameplay options. Level up your characters, acquire new equipment and spells, and utilize the AI system for autonomous character combat.
The Story:
Set in a far-off galaxy scarred by a millennia-long interstellar war, Vay's narrative unfolds after a colossal, malfunctioning machine crashes onto the technologically underdeveloped planet Vay. This destructive force wreaks havoc, leaving devastation in its wake.
Your quest begins on your wedding day, when your wife is abducted amidst an attack on your kingdom. Embark on an epic adventure to rescue her and potentially save the world from the relentless war machines.
Vay expertly blends nostalgic charm with modern enhancements. True to its JRPG roots, experience points and gold are earned through random encounters. Immerse yourself in nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes, available in both English and Japanese audio.
