Sony Unveils Sleek Midnight Black PlayStation 5 Accessories

Sony has unveiled its stylish Midnight Black Collection for the PlayStation 5, adding a dark aesthetic to several popular accessories. The collection includes the DualSense Edge wireless controller, PlayStation Portal handheld remote player, Pulse Elite wireless headset, and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds.

This isn't Sony's first foray into darker hues; the original Midnight Black DualSense controller was a hit, and this collection builds on that success with premium versions of existing devices. The Edge controller, in particular, benefits from a modern update and includes a dedicated black carrying case.

Pricing for the Midnight Black Collection is as follows:

• DualSense Edge wireless controller: $199.99
• PlayStation Portal: $199.99
• Pulse Explore wireless earbuds: $199.99
• Pulse Elite wireless headset: $149.99

Note that the Pulse Elite headset is significantly pricier than its predecessor, the Pulse 3D wireless headset, though it does include a felt gray carrying case (alongside the earbuds' case).

Pre-orders begin January 16th, 2025, at 10 AM ET, exclusively through direct.playstation.com. The full launch is scheduled for February 20th, 2025.

Beyond the Midnight Black Collection, Sony continues to expand its themed DualSense controller lineup. Following the successful releases tied to God of War and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, a limited-edition Helldivers 2 DualSense controller is now available for pre-order.
