Squad Busters is eliminating win streaks in an upcoming update, removing the pressure-inducing system and its associated rewards. This change aims to create a more enjoyable experience for all players.
Why the Change and When?
The win streak system, while initially intended to celebrate player skill, often led to increased pressure and frustration. To address this, Squad Busters is removing win streaks starting December 16th. Your highest win streak will remain on your profile as a record of your achievement.
As compensation for this removal, players who reach certain win streak milestones (0-9, 10, 25, 50, and 100) before December 16th will receive exclusive emotes. However, coins spent on win streak boosts will not be refunded; the developers cite maintaining game balance as the reason.
Player reactions to this change are mixed, with some welcoming the reduction in pay-to-win aspects and others expressing disappointment over the perceived inadequate compensation.
