Welcome back to our ongoing series, "How is Ubisoft today?" While the company's upper management continues to navigate through challenging times, there's a silver lining to report. Ubisoft has successfully addressed a persistent issue, bringing relief to many gamers.
Ubisoft has finally resolved compatibility problems between several Assassin’s Creed titles and the 24H2 update for Windows 11. Since at least the fall of 2024, games like Assassin’s Creed Origins, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and other Ubisoft titles were malfunctioning on the new operating system. The solution arrived in the form of new patches, which were announced on the Steam pages for both Origins and Valhalla.
The gaming community has responded positively to these updates. Comments under the patch notes show gamers expressing gratitude towards Ubisoft for the long-awaited fix. Interestingly, the community has refrained from their usual critiques, acknowledging that this time, the issue stemmed from Windows, not Ubisoft's development. Despite this, the recent reviews for both games still hover at "Mixed."
Looking forward, there's optimism surrounding the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Its launch, now rescheduled for March 20, has been delayed to ensure a higher quality product. This move is critical, as the success of Assassin’s Creed Shadows could significantly influence Ubisoft's future.
