Following the recent conclusion of Pocket Gamer Connects London, our team had the opportunity to get hands-on with some exciting new game releases. Among them, the word-based puzzle game WordPix particularly caught the eye of our editor, Dann Sullivan.
In WordPix, the gameplay is refreshingly straightforward. Players are shown a series of images and must deduce the corresponding word. For instance, an image of a scaly reptile might lead you to guess "Lizard," while a certain rodent image would point to "Capybara." While the core concept isn't overly complex, it serves as an excellent mental exercise for players on the move.
To keep the gameplay fresh, WordPix offers a diverse range of modes. Whether you're playing solo or challenging friends in multiplayer mode, or taking on the "Beat the Boss" challenges to test your skills against the AI, there's plenty to keep you engaged. Additionally, daily challenges such as "Word of the Day" and "Quote of the Day," along with a Sudoku-like mode, add further variety to the mix.

It's clear why WordPix grabbed Dann's attention. The game boasts a simple, clean, and user-friendly interface, with a concept that starts easy but gradually increases in difficulty. The variety of modes ensures continuous engagement, and we hope the developers will introduce more features as the game reaches its global launch later this year. Currently, players in the US and UK can enjoy WordPix on iOS, while UK Android users can also join the fun.
