In games where combat is central, it's common for players to seek out the most effective characters. This ZZZ tier list ranks all the characters from version 1.0 of Zenless Zone Zero, helping you understand who stands out in the current meta.
Updated on December 24, 2024, by Nahda Nabiilah: Tier lists in games with ongoing character updates evolve with the meta. Initially, Grace was a top-tier choice due to her Anomaly-building prowess. However, with the introduction of more Anomaly characters, her relevance has diminished, especially with the emergence of the overpowered Miyabi. This Zenless Zone Zero tier list has been updated to reflect the current standings and meta shifts.
S-Tier
S-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero excel in their roles and synergize exceptionally well with others.
Miyabi
Miyabi stands out as one of the premier characters in ZZZ due to her swift Frost attacks and massive damage potential. Mastering her pattern and unleashing her ultimate move can lead to devastating results on the battlefield.
Jane Doe
Jane Doe surpasses Piper in ZZZ, particularly with her ability to Crit her Assault Anomaly, significantly boosting her damage output. Despite the slower pace of Anomaly characters compared to pure DPS, Jane Doe's potent Assault capabilities earn her a spot in the S-Rank alongside Zhu Yuan and Ellen.
Yanagi
Yanagi's ability to trigger Disorder without applying Shock on top of another Anomaly makes her an ideal partner for Miyabi in ZZZ. Her effectiveness in activating Disorder with any existing Anomaly on enemies makes her a valuable asset.
Zhu Yuan
Zhu Yuan excels as a swift DPS in ZZZ, using her Shotshells to deal significant damage. She pairs well with Stun and Support characters, particularly with Qingyi and Nicole in version 1.1, enhancing her Ether damage and reducing enemy DEF.
Caesar
Caesar redefines the role of a Defense Agent in ZZZ with exceptional protection, buffs, and debuffs. Her Impact scaling allows for easy enemy stuns, and her crowd control abilities make her a top-tier support.
Qingyi
Qingyi is a versatile Stunner who complements any squad with an Attack Agent. Her fluid movements and ability to quickly build Daze through Basic Attack spam, along with a massive DMG multiplier on stunned enemies, make her a strong contender in the S-Tier.
Lighter
Lighter, a Stun Agent with significant buffs, works exceptionally well with Fire and Ice characters. His compatibility with many powerful units in ZZZ secures his position in the S-Tier.
Lycaon
Lycaon, an Ice unit focused on Stun combat, utilizes charged Basic and EX Special Attacks to apply Ice and Daze. His ability to reduce enemies’ Ice resistance and boost allies' Daze DMG makes him indispensable for Ice teams in Zenless Zone Zero.
Ellen
Ellen, an Attack Agent leveraging the Ice element, excels in synergy with Lycaon and Soukaku. Her powerful hits, especially her EX Special Attacks and Ultimates, cement her place at the top of the ZZZ tier list.
Harumasa
Harumasa, once a free S-Rank Agent in Zenless Zone Zero, is an Electric-Attack character requiring specific conditioning to unleash his potent attacks.
Soukaku
Soukaku serves as a strong Support in Zenless Zone Zero, enhancing Ice Anomaly through multiple Icy hits. Her buffs to Ice units like Ellen or Lycaon make her one of the best buffers in the game.
Rina
As a Support, Rina not only deals significant DMG but also provides PEN, allowing allies to bypass enemy defense. Her ability to build Shock Anomaly and enhance Shock reactions makes her a valuable asset for Electric teams.
A-Tier
A-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero are highly effective in specific team compositions and generally reliable in their roles.
Nicole
Nicole is an excellent Ether Support in Zenless Zone Zero, capable of pulling enemies into energy fields, shredding enemy DEF, and boosting Ether DMG. However, her benefits are mostly limited to Ether DPS units.
Seth
Seth performs well as a shielder and support but doesn't reach the level of top-tier buffers like Soukaku and Caesar. His niche for Anomaly DPS limits his broader utility compared to ATK buffers.
Lucy
Lucy, a Support unit, offers off-field DMG and a significant ATK% buff to the team. Her synergy with other characters to activate her Additional Ability can further enhance her DPS.
Piper
Piper's EX Special Attack is one of the best in Zenless Zone Zero, enabling continuous Physical Anomaly buildup and Assault triggers. Her effectiveness is maximized with other Anomaly units to maintain Disorder.
Grace
Grace remains a potent Anomaly character in Zenless Zone Zero, capable of quickly Shocking enemies and triggering continuous DMG. While still relevant, her position has been affected by the influx of other Anomaly Agents.
Koleda
Koleda, a Fire/Stun character, efficiently builds enemies' Daze, making her a flexible addition to various team compositions, particularly those with Fire characters. Her synergy with Ben adds flair to her moveset.
Anby
Anby, while celebrated for her comedic timing in story quests, is a reliable Stun unit in combat. Her quick combos and bullet-deflecting ability during runs are notable, though her susceptibility to interruptions keeps her from higher tiers.
Soldier 11
Soldier 11 is straightforward and effective, dealing substantial DMG with Fire-infused Basic Attacks triggered by her Chain Attack, Ultimate, or EX Special Attack. While simple, her mechanics are efficient and fun.
B-Tier
B-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero offer utility but are often outshone by other characters in similar roles.
Ben
Ben, the sole defensive character in Zenless Zone Zero 1.0, offers fun gameplay with his parry and punish mechanics. However, his slow pace and limited team benefits outside of Crit Rate buffs make him less impactful.
Nekomata
Nekomata, an Attack unit, delivers high AoE DMG but heavily relies on team support due to her Element and Faction limitations. Her potential is expected to rise with future updates introducing more compatible Support characters.
C-Tier
C-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero currently lack significant contributions to team performance.
Corin
Corin, an Attack character dealing Physical DMG, excels at continuous slash DMG to Stunned enemies. However, she is overshadowed by more effective Physical Attack units like Nekomata and Piper.
Billy
Billy, despite his enthusiastic shouting and shooting, falls short in dealing significant DMG. As an Attack character, he fits well in quick-swap teams, but other DPS characters outshine him.
Anton
Anton's Core Skill allows for continuous Shock DMG, but his lack of overall DPS and single-target focus limits his effectiveness in combat, relegating him to the C-Tier.
