*Lost Fantasy* sees Pires teaming up once again with *Money* artist Luca Casalanguida. The debut issue showcases cover art by Casalanguida, Alex Diotto, Darick Robertson, and Jae Lee. Additionally, the series will feature a serialized backup story titled *Indigo Children: Exodus*, which follows up on Pires' intriguing sci-fi series *Indigo Children*.

Here's the official synopsis from Image Comics for *Lost Fantasy*:

*In *Lost Fantasy*, a magical realm exists beneath our own, and first contact was established over a century ago following a natural disaster that created a schism, allowing monsters to cross over. Since then, a clandestine group of monster slayers called The Great Hunters have been collaborating with global leaders to safeguard our world from these shadowy threats. However, last night, a breach occurred, leading to a mysterious mass killing in Montana, which has shifted the dynamics between the two worlds. Now, it falls to the rookie monster hunter Henry Blackheart to halt the impending chaos...*

"I'm thrilled to return to Image Comics with *Lost Fantasy*—a series that blends my passion for Western comics like *East Of West* and *Something Is Killing The Children* with the intricate world-building and high-octane action of the JRPGs I grew up with," Pires shares with IGN. "Our lead character's Snow White spikey hair and Giant Sword are a direct nod to Tetsuya Nomura's iconic character design for Cloud from the *Final Fantasy* series."

Pires adds, "The 'Lost' in the title is a subtle tribute to Hironobu Sakaguchi's *Lost Odyssey*—his underappreciated masterpiece post-*Final Fantasy* at Mistwalker. So, the comic is infused with a deep love for JRPGs at its heart."

Play*Lost Fantasy #1* is set to hit shelves on April 30, 2025.
