New Images and Details Released for Lion King Ride at Disneyland Paris; Construction Begins Soon

Author : Sarah Update:May 01,2025

Exciting news for Disney fans as new images, details, and a construction start window of Fall 2025 have been revealed for the much-anticipated Lion King ride at Disneyland Paris. As announced by Disney Parks Blog, this will be the first-ever land and attraction dedicated to The Lion King, set to become a major highlight of the reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be renamed Disney Adventure World. This new water ride will immerse guests in the iconic moments of the 1994 classic, complemented by a towering 120-foot-high Pride Rock and an array of dining, shopping, character meet-and-greets, and more.

Disney has shared a captivating concept image from the ride, showcasing Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal of grubs in a lush jungle setting. This scene is just one highlight of the ride, which will also feature a thrilling 52-foot drop, slightly taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure by two inches.

While an exact opening date has yet to be announced, the Lion King ride is slated to debut following the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026. This attraction will play a key role in the expansive Disney Adventure World, which will double the current size of the park.

In addition to the Lion King ride, Disney Adventure World will include other exciting additions such as the Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, featuring the return of Mandy Moore voicing Rapunzel, and the first-ever attraction inspired by Up. The latter will be a spinning carousel offering panoramic views of the park's stunning scenery.

The World Premiere will be another highlight of Disney Adventure World, set to open on May 15, 2025. This new park entrance will emulate the glamour of a Hollywood premiere, while the World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End district, will host theaters showcasing productions like TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
