The wait is finally over for fans eagerly anticipating the details of Nintendo's much-discussed upgrade to the iconic Nintendo Switch. The newly revealed Nintendo Switch 2 has turned out to be more impressive than many had anticipated, boasting support for up to 120fps and 4K resolution when docked, setting a new benchmark in portable gaming.

PlayDuring today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo unveiled a slew of features that elevate the gaming experience. The Nintendo Switch 2 sports a larger 7.9-inch built-in screen compared to its predecessor, maintaining the same thickness of 13.9mm but doubling the pixel count. In handheld mode, it supports a 1080p resolution with up to 120fps, and it uses an LCD screen with HDR capabilities. When docked, the system can deliver visuals in stunning 4K resolution with HDR.

The Joy-Con 2 controllers introduce innovative design changes, including a magnetic connection and a release button for easy detachment. The SL and SR buttons are now larger for enhanced horizontal gameplay, and the left and right sticks have also been upsized. A notable highlight is the official introduction of mouse control support within the Joy-Con controllers, promising a new level of interaction for gamers.

The handheld Switch 2 is equipped with a noise-canceling microphone and supports 3D audio for games that are compatible, enriching the audio experience. Additionally, it features a more robust and adjustable stand than the original Switch, allowing for various viewing angles. A top USB port adds versatility, enabling external camera connectivity or charging the system in tabletop mode.

Storage capacity has seen a significant boost, with the Nintendo Switch 2 coming equipped with 256GB of internal storage, catering to the needs of modern gamers.
