Dune: Awakening recently wrapped up its open beta weekend, sparking excitement among fans as they explored the first 20-25 hours of gameplay and other features. However, during the Global LAN Party livestream on May 10, players uncovered a groundbreaking exploit affecting PvP battles. The "stunlock exploit" occurs when players continuously use quick knife attacks against opponents with depleted stamina, leaving them perpetually stunned and unable to act, defend, or escape.
This glitch gained considerable attention after being showcased by popular streamers Tyler1 and Shroud, highlighting its potential to disrupt gameplay balance. In response, Funcom promptly acknowledged the issue during the livestream. Dune: Awakening World Director Jeff Gagné and Lead Producer Ole Andreas Haley reassured players that the exploit would be resolved before the game's official launch.
Gagné emphasized, "We’ve got this covered. It’s not something unexpected; it’s already on our radar." With valuable feedback collected from the open beta weekend, the development team is well-equipped to refine the game ahead of its release.
Set to debut on PC on June 10, 2025, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are planned for a future release date yet to be announced. For the latest updates on Dune: Awakening, stay tuned to our coverage below.
