The indie sensation Schedule I continues to ride the wave of its overnight viral success on Steam, with the release of Patch 5 bringing the drug dealer simulation to version 0.3.3f14. As the top-selling game on the platform, Schedule I has outshone major titles like Monster Hunter Wilds, GTA 5, and Marvel Rivals, thanks to its viral spread across social media, Twitch, and YouTube. In the game, players start as a small-time dealer in the gritty city of Hyland Point and climb the ranks to become a kingpin, managing drug manufacturing and distribution, and expanding their empire through property, businesses, and a workforce.
Developed and published by the Australian indie developer TVGS, known simply as Tyler, the game's explosive launch has been described as "amazing but pretty overwhelming." Tyler expressed his surprise and gratitude on Reddit, stating, "I never expected this kind of response! At the moment I’m just trying to stay focused and get patches out ASAP. Also looking forward to getting started on content updates as soon as all major bugs are patched."
Patch 5 addresses a variety of issues, including employee, multiplayer, and casino bugs, and introduces new pathfinding validity checks to prevent crashes. This update is crucial as it paves the way for the much-anticipated first content update, set to launch this weekend. Tyler has promised sneak peeks of this upcoming update soon.
