War of Empire Conquest (WOE) is an engaging real-time strategy (RTS) mobile game that thrives on competitive player versus player (PvP) action. In WOE, one player initiates a match, inviting others to join and battle head-to-head. Players enjoy a high level of control, able to manually manage all types of units and buildings, ensuring a deeply immersive and strategic experience.
Main Elements:
WOE immerses players in the medieval era, simulating 18 powerful Empires or civilizations, including China, Japan, Persia, Teutonic, Mongolian, Gothic, and Maya, among others. Each Empire boasts 8 types of regular units, shared across all civilizations, and one unique unit that adds distinct flavor to each Empire's military capabilities. Examples of these unique units include Mongolia's Riders, Persia's War Elephants, and Spain's Conquistadors.
Regular units include:
- Swordsman: A versatile and common infantry unit.
- Pikeman: Effective against Cavalry but susceptible to arrows.
- Archers: Strong against Pikemen but vulnerable to Cavalry.
- Light Cavalry: Known for speed and mobility, ideal for hit-and-run tactics.
- Aries: Specialized for attacking buildings.
Buildings play a crucial role in gameplay, such as:
- Tower: Primarily offensive, capable of shooting 6 arrows at once when manned by 5 farmers.
- Turret: Designed to demolish enemy structures.
Each Empire in WOE has unique advantages and disadvantages, offering a rich variety of strategic options. For instance, the Huns benefit from not needing to construct houses, which saves time, and their Cavalry is more cost-effective and upgradable to Rangers. Conversely, the Teutonic warriors are powerful but slow-moving, reminiscent of historical Spartan warriors.
Highlights:
The core gameplay of WOE revolves around simultaneously managing several key aspects:
- Develop Economy: Continuously produce farmers and gather resources, using structures like the Town Center (TC) and Towers as temporary shelters.
- Harass Enemies: Deploy small units early on to disrupt the enemy's resource collection, gaining a tactical advantage.
- Destroy Enemies: Engage and defeat opposing forces directly.
Cooperation is vital in WOE. Players must work with allies to form legions, leveraging numbers to defeat larger enemy forces and protect weaker, high-damage units. Understanding unit counters and fostering teamwork are essential for success. For example, Pikemen counter Cavalry, Cavalry overpower Archers, Archers are effective against Pikemen, Slaves on camels restrain Cavalry, and the Koryo Carriage dominates ranged units.
Game Modes:
WOE features two primary resources: Food and Gold. As the game advances, players can upgrade their Town Center through various historical eras—the dark ages, feudal era, castle era, and emperor era—unlocking advanced technologies, buildings, and units.
The game's complexity is managed through different modes, with Normal Mode and Imperial Deathmatch Mode being the most popular:
- Normal Mode: Characterized by limited resources, requiring players to prioritize development and use small units for early harassment. This mode offers complex and engaging gameplay.
- Imperial Deathmatch Mode: Players start in the emperor era with ample resources, allowing for immediate and intense battles.
Main Features:
Having been successfully running in China for four years, WOE has reached version 1.8.n after numerous upgrades. Key features include:
- Player vs. CPU: Practice against computer-controlled opponents.
- Network Play: Compete with players worldwide over the internet.
- Spectators: Watch live matches and learn from others.
- Replay: Review and analyze past games.
- Making Map: Create custom maps for unique gameplay experiences.
- Legion: Form alliances and coordinate strategies with other players.
- Friends: Connect and play with friends.
- Chats: Communicate in-game for better coordination and social interaction.
War of Empire Conquest offers a rich, strategic experience that rewards both individual skill and teamwork, making it a standout in the RTS mobile gaming landscape.
