Funcom, developer of Dune: Awakening, has confirmed they're actively addressing player-reported issues in the Deep Desert zone, including concerns about respawn mechanics.
While Funcom already promised fixes for controversial helicopter mechanics in PvP - still considered problematic - Chief Creative Officer Joel Bylos engaged directly with players via Reddit comments to acknowledge these ongoing improvements.
"We're implementing multiple fixes and adjustments for these issues. We appreciate your patience during this process," Bylos stated.
Bylos responded to rustypipe7889's detailed Reddit post criticizing Dune: Awakening's PvP systems and Deep Desert mechanics, particularly highlighting the instant respawn functionality that undermines combat victories.
Other players have raised endgame concerns that haven't received direct responses yet. Redditor Darqsat expressed frustration: "The endgame lacks meaningful PvE content in Deep Desert, leaving only hardcore PvP players there after reaching T5 Duraluminium tier. Without compelling PvE rewards, narrative content, or progression systems, PvE players simply leave."
These issues emerge alongside Dune: Awakening's impressive milestone - the survival MMO reached 189,333 concurrent players during its launch weekend.
The game maintains a 'Very Positive' Steam rating since its June 10 release, achieving 142,000 concurrent players shortly after launch. For detailed impressions, consult our Dune: Awakening review-in-progress.
