Freedom Wars Remastered: Detailed Guide on All Weapon Types

In *Freedom Wars Remastered*, players have the exciting opportunity to tailor their combat experience by selecting two weapons from a diverse arsenal before embarking on an Operation. With six distinct weapon types available, you can mix and match to create a setup that perfectly aligns with your preferred playstyle, whether you lean towards agility, power, or strategic versatility.

Each of the six weapon types brings unique abilities to the table, with three being gun-based and the other three melee-oriented. All weapons are fully customizable, allowing you to adapt them to your needs. You can acquire new weapons by successfully completing Operations or by visiting the Zakka store in The Warren. While you can't dictate the weapons your Comrades use, you have full control over your Accessory's armament, and you're free to switch your weapons or your Accessory's at any time without facing any penalties or benefits.

Every Weapon Type In Freedom Wars Remastered

Weapon Type Traits
Light Melee
  • Quick attacks that cater to faster playstyles and are effective against single enemies.
  • Can sever Abductor limbs without the need for a Flare Knife.
Heavy Melee
  • Wide arcing attacks that deliver significant damage.
  • Well-placed attacks can strike multiple limbs of Abductors, multiplying damage as if hitting them several times.
  • Charged attacks can launch you into the air at the end of a combo.
  • Slightly slows your movement speed when equipped.
Polearm
  • Most attacks involve charging through enemies, allowing you to evade incoming attacks.
  • Charged attacks throw the polearm, inflicting substantial damage from a safe distance.
Assault Weapons
  • High total ammo capacity, making it ideal as a primary weapon for gun-focused builds.
  • Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne, offering better angles or safe-distance shooting.
Portable Artillery
  • High single-shot damage but with a low overall ammo capacity.
  • Explosive AOE shots capable of hitting multiple limbs, increasing damage output.
  • Slows your movement speed when equipped.
Autocannons
  • High rate of fire with large ammo capacity and magazine size.
  • Individual shots don't deal much damage, but the rapid firing compensates for this.
  • Slows your movement speed when equipped.

A key advantage for your Accessory is that it doesn't need to manage ammo when using gun weapons, allowing for sustained firepower without the need for reloads.
