The 2011 PSN data breach, which compromised the personal information of approximately 77 million accounts, has fueled concerns and skepticism among users, who are requesting transparency about the nature of the "operational issue" and assurances that their data remains secure.

Several third-party publishers have responded to the disruption by extending in-game events. Capcom extended its Monster Hunter Wilds beta test, and EA extended a major multiplayer event in FC 25.

Despite restoring service, Sony's limited communication, consisting of only two tweets, has left many customers unsatisfied and demanding further explanation and reassurance.
