A Regular Stream of Diverse AC Experiences
Guillemot's interview revealed plans for several Assassin's Creed remakes, though specific titles remain undisclosed. He emphasized the opportunity to revisit and modernize classic entries, highlighting the enduring richness of their worlds. The goal is to deliver a consistent flow of new Assassin's Creed games, ensuring each installment offers a unique experience.
Beyond remakes, Guillemot promised a diverse range of experiences in the coming years. He stated that the aim is for more frequent releases, but without repeating the same gameplay formula annually.
Upcoming titles like Assassin's Creed Hexe (targeting a 2026 release) and Assassin's Creed Shadows (releasing November 15, 2024) exemplify this commitment to fresh gameplay. Hexe is set in 16th-century Europe, while Shadows takes players to feudal Japan. Assassin's Creed Jade, a mobile title, is slated for a 2025 launch.
Ubisoft's history includes successful remasters, such as Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection (2016) and Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered (2018). While rumors of an Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake circulated last year, official confirmation is still pending.
Ubisoft Embraces Generative AI
Guillemot also discussed technological advancements in game development. He showcased Assassin's Creed Shadows' dynamic weather system, impacting gameplay and visuals. He further expressed strong belief in the potential of generative AI to enhance game worlds, particularly in creating more intelligent and interactive NPCs and environments. He envisions this technology enriching open worlds with increased dynamism and realism.
