Marvel Rivals Addresses Low FPS Damage Issue
Players of Marvel Rivals experiencing reduced damage output at lower FPS settings (particularly 30 FPS) can expect a resolution soon. The developers have acknowledged a bug affecting damage calculations for certain heroes, including Dr. Strange and Wolverine, at lower frame rates. This issue stems from the game's client-side prediction mechanism, which, while intended to reduce lag, is inadvertently impacting damage calculations for some abilities, such as Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw.
The problem is more noticeable against stationary targets than in live matches. While a complete fix might not arrive immediately, the developers are actively working on a solution. The upcoming Season 1 launch on January 11th is anticipated to include a significant improvement, if not a complete resolution, to this issue. Further patches will address any remaining problems.
Despite this ongoing issue, Marvel Rivals, released in early December 2025, has been well-received by the community, boasting an 80% player approval rating on Steam based on over 132,000 reviews. While initial concerns regarding hero balance existed, the game's overall reception remains positive. The upcoming Season 1 update aims to further enhance the gameplay experience by addressing the reported FPS-related damage bug.
