Tekken fans have been persistently requesting a Waffle House-themed stage in Tekken 8—not as a real-world destination, but as an in-game battleground. While director Katsuhiro Harada appears receptive to the idea, Waffle House itself hasn't responded to these overtures.
On X/Twitter, Harada acknowledged the growing fan campaign for this unconventional stage setting. The demand gained momentum after he publicly expressed curiosity about the concept, prompting ongoing discussions.
The director confirmed he comprehends the community's enthusiasm, revealing he's personally explored possibilities beyond just consideration—taking concrete steps toward realization.
"For over a year, I've attempted outreach through multiple channels," Harada tweeted. "Though this remains speculative, the silence might stem from Waffle House's potential hesitation about associating with fighting-game content."
Transparently speaking, while limited in what I can disclose, I completely grasp your collective request—that's exactly why I contemplated this endeavor. Truthfully, it's been on my mind for quite some time.

Harada emphasized that corporate non-responses are exceptionally uncommon in his experience. He proposed potential workarounds involving branding alternatives, provided they preserve the essential concept, expressing willingness to revisit negotiations.
For now, iconic Tekken battles won't unfold beneath Waffle House's trademark signage. However, Harada floated "Hustle House" as a plausible substitute—a solution that maintains the aesthetic while avoiding licensing hurdles.
This development coincides with Tekken 8's 2.01 update, introducing Fahkumram alongside ongoing balancing efforts. Harada recently reassured players that his team is analyzing post-Season 2 feedback intensively to implement meaningful gameplay refinements.
