Freedom Wars: Remastered Impact Damage Mechanics Unveiled

Freedom Wars Remastered features Abductors with visible health bars. Players utilize various weapons and items to deplete this health, leading to victory. The game incorporates diverse damage types, each with unique mechanics. While Light Melee weapons target specific body parts, Impact Damage plays a similar strategic role.

Mastering Impact Damage significantly improves Abductor takedown speed. This guide explains Impact Damage functionality and its effective use in Freedom Wars Remastered.

Understanding Impact Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered

Impact Damage is primarily found on Heavy Melee weapons and some Ranged Weapons. While a numerical value often accompanies the Impact Damage percentage, this doesn't directly increase total damage output. Instead, it represents non-elemental damage boosting standard attack power, thus accelerating the Abductor's stagger rate. A full stagger meter results in the Abductor staggering, providing a crucial window for significant damage before recovery.

Unlike the visible health bar, the stagger meter is hidden, meaning staggering can occur at any point once the damage threshold is met. This presents both advantages and disadvantages. Offline play allows for strategic attack charging and maximized damage. However, online, staggering might hinder teammate attacks. Some Abductors react uniquely to staggering; for example, Ramosa retreats. This can complicate precise hit execution.

Boosting Stagger Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered

Increasing Stagger Damage requires unlocking the Weapon Development Facility. This facility allows weapon crafting and customization, offering various enhancement options. The Manufacture Modules feature enables module creation using gathered resources. The Stagger Damage Up Module requires Glassy Carbon, a common field resource in Basic Operations. Multiple identical modules can be combined via Synthesise Modules to enhance effectiveness. Attaching the crafted module to a weapon boosts Impact Damage and stagger capabilities.

Since Impact Damage is non-elemental, prioritizing physical damage upgrades over elemental ones maximizes stagger efficiency. This makes modules like Stagger Damage Up invaluable for users of heavy melee weapons or ranged weapons with naturally high stagger potential.
