Blizzard has unveiled exciting new details about the in-game housing system set to debut in World of Warcraft: Midnight. While the expansion is slated for release after The War Within as part of the Worldsoul saga, the early previews are generating buzz with promises of extensive customization options that surpass many players' expectations.
A developer blog recently showcased in-game videos demonstrating the furniture placement mechanics. The system employs a grid layout with an automatic snapping feature, simplifying the arrangement of items. Players can also adorn larger pieces like shelves or tables with smaller accessories, which remain attached even when the larger item is moved.
The housing system offers two distinct modes: a Basic Mode for easy organization and an Advanced Mode tailored for creative builders. In Advanced Mode, users have the freedom to rotate objects along all three axes and stack them in innovative ways, allowing for the creation of intricate and visually appealing interiors.

A notable feature is the ability to scale objects, catering to the diverse sizes of characters. This means gnomes can craft snug, cozy spaces, whereas larger races like tauren can design more expansive layouts. Additionally, some furniture pieces designed specifically for the housing system will allow for recoloring, although this feature may not be available for legacy assets.
With the release of Midnight still on the horizon, Blizzard is keeping the community engaged by teasing upcoming content, ensuring that players remain enthusiastic about the future updates to the game.
